Hello
As an educational consultant specializing in instruction, I work closely with districts, schools, and teachers to enhance their literacy programs. My role involves providing targeted support and resources to improve teaching practices so all students can develop strong reading and writing skills.
I support instructional methodology, offer professional development, and collaborate with educators to implement evidence-based strategies that foster student engagement and success in literacy. Ultimately, my goal is to create a positive impact on student learning outcomes through effective literacy instruction.
My Story
My name is Dr. Francine Swickheimer. I earned my Associate’s Degree in Education from Florida Southwestern State College, my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, and both my Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Reading and Literacy from Capella University. With 28 years of experience in education, I have worked with students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Throughout my career, I have been honored as a Florida Regional Reading Teacher of the Year, a Lee County Teacher of the Year Finalist, and both a Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Finalist and Teacher of Distinction. I spent nearly 20 years as a classroom teacher before transitioning into roles such as Education Specialist and Coordinator of RtI/MTSS. I have also served in several district-level positions, contributing to literacy initiatives and academic leadership for a charter school system. In these roles, I provided coaching and lesson modeling for teachers to support instructional effectiveness.

Over the years, I have developed and delivered professional development for educators at the school, district, and national levels. Currently, I work as an educational consultant, providing coaching and consulting services across the country.
